We have had an amazing time over the past few weeks meeting customers all around the world. As I was reading Shanes’ update about India and Singapore I couldn’t help but think about the contrast we saw between Warsaw, Poland and Milan, Italy. These two European cities are filled with a rich cultural history, yet each has its own unique architecture and cuisine.
We arrived in Warsaw about 2:00 PM for a short 15-hour visit to this capital city. After checking into our hotel it was easy to see the Muzeum Techniki (Museum of Technology), just a couple of blocks away, standing tall in the center of the city. The hustle of Warsaw reminded me of the fast pace of my hometown, London – lots of cars, busy roads, crowded pavements and plenty of small business.
After an early dinner at Lubie To, which we thought was going to be traditional polish cuisine but turned out to be an Italian restaurant, we made our way over to meet 20 of our customers and show off the new HTC One series at Srodmiejska Klub. What a fabulous venue, complete with impromptu singing sessions in the main room and a circle dance in the room behind us. It was great to be surrounded by the culture of Warsaw!
It was also great to meet with customers and hear how they use their HTC phones and what they think of the new HTC One.
After a short time of exploring the cameras and other features, we broke out the Beats headsets and let folks start testing the improvements we have made in audio. Everyone agreed that the sound quality has improved in the HTC One. Too bad we didn’t get to record any of the locals singing to play back on the flight to Milan
After our all too short stay in Warsaw we caught our flight to Milan for a visit with our customers. From Palazzo to Duomo, Milan is a city filled with centuries-old amazing architecture. After a short walk through Milan city center we stopped for dinner at Café de Ville on the cobblestone streets of Milan.
After dinner, we quickly rode over to the Terme Milano for the HTC launch party – and what a party it was. Boy George was on site as the DJ for the evening keeping people dancing in the courtyard late in the evening. But the HTC One was the star of the night with customers lining up to look at the phone, test the camera and listen to the improvements made in audio. The response was overwhelming. Many customers waited to have their picture taken recommending the HTC One.
From Warsaw to Milan, one thing was constant, our tremendous fans and customers. It is humbling to see so many people come to our events and enjoy the new phones. On behalf of HTC I simply say “thank you.”
