When Ben Watts throws a party the stars certainly seem to align. And this week was no exception as the crowd gathered at Milk Gallery in New York Tuesday night to check out his latest exhibit, “Ben Watts Mixtape” during MADE Fashion Week.
The new exhibit, which Style.com describes as featuring “Watts’ signature sun-drenched shots of Montauk surfers and beach-bound models,” showcases a collection of photos Ben has taken over the last few years.
Part of Watts vision for Mixtape is inspiring people to find creative ways to use their camera phones. With the introduction of “scooter-booth,” party-goers had the opportunity to become part of the exhibit by taking their own self portraits using the HTC One X phones mounted on the handlebars.
Some of the final pieces of the exhibit, three unique collages taken using his HTC One X and built using his new WattsUpPhoto app, showcase Ben’s unique view of urban culture and fashion; while capturing the essence of the playful attitudes we all have when relaxing on a warm summer day.
