ya guys, the camera… tell your bosses they need to do something about it cause the enthusiasts and reviewers aren’t too thrilled with it a second time around.

    • n900mixalot

Agreed. There are some great things happening here and the phone is solid but that camera could be so much more. I’m looking at Evo 3D photos and they are comparable to this 2014 phone.

Yes agreed y’all. The amount of potential that 2nd sensor held was unprecedented. to better the quality of the photo, not photography effects.

        • Hani

I’m wondering if this is something they can improve through software updates.

          • http://disqus.com/JHancock8/ JHancock

That’s what I was thinking! Because the hardware is already there.

What colors will the Google Play Edition be available in?

    • http://www.jasondunn.com/ Jason Dunn

      Glacial silver.

      • MindBlower3

When will the glacial silver version be available on AT&T? Best buy has it listed on their site as “coming soon” but no one seems to be able to tell me an exact date…help!

  • KT

HTC I just wanted to say thanks. A couple of weeks ago I purchased the HTC One and gave up my I phone and absolutely love it. I even had a friend get on board with me and uses one now. You really understand the importance of the user experience. The Quality of the phone is superior to all phones. It’s Elegant, sleek and the operating system is smooth. HTC you are the real deal. This is not a plastic made phone. This is a phone that has been designed from conception to offer the customer the best of all worlds. Add the song by Pharell Williams “Happy” to promote the HTC ONE and HTC ONE M8 in your marketing on your websites and promotion and watch this smartphone go!! Folks give up your old smartphones and jump on board the new HTC ONE M8 is alive!! You’ll never go back once you experience this phone. It is absolutely beautiful!!!

I’m kinda confused by the lack of transparency regarding what colors are available on what carrier/retailer at what time. It’s strange because HTC has been awesome with transparency on system upgrade timelines and other issues. The M8 will be my 3rd HTC phone in a row, so I just want to know when i can get the one in the color i want on the carrier of my choice. Ok, glad to get that off my chest.

What are you looking for specifics on? HTC.com has all the specifics for each carrier. Amber Gold is a Best Buy exclusive in the USA, and it’s also coming to Europe next month.

      • Justin Kwong

Sprint seems not to have the glacial silver and I can’t find out if they’ll get it later or if that color is exclusive to other carriers. That seems silly, but apparently it’s top secret info.

        • http://www.jasondunn.com/ Jason Dunn

Sprint chose not to carry the glacial silver colour – it’s not an exclusive, they just opted not to buy it. Then can buy it from us in the future if they want to – nothing is set in stone.

          • Justin Kwong

Awesome, that’s all I needed to know. No one at Sprint or Best Buy had any idea. Thanks so much for getting back to me.

  • Bernardo Fasano

    Love it! Perfect phone <3

  • FlexPlexico

I gave up on you HTC when you decided not to update the firmware on my One X. It will be a cold day in hell before I buy another HTC phone. Even though the new One looks cool.

    • http://www.jasondunn.com/ Jason Dunn

I understand your frustration. Unfortunately Nvidia opted not to support that chipset with Kit Kat, and HTC was unable to provide the update for any owners of the Tegra 3-based One X.

      • FlexPlexico

I did not buy a Nvidia phone. I bought a HTC phone (same company that made my old
Nexus One). You cannot seriously expect me to evaluate the
individual components of the phone I buy to validate the design. The fact the
Nvidia decided not to go for KitKat comes partly from HTC’s lack of commitment
to the chipset. BTW, what happened to support for Android 4.3? Was that also
        Nvidia’s fault?

Anyway, rest assured that I will not be buying any Nvidia based phones in the near future
        either.

        • Frank

It’s not unfortunately that NVidia don’t support it: HTC choose to use NVidia for the phone so it all boils down to HTC – no one is waiting on lame excuses

  • http://www.jasondunn.com/ Jason Dunn

Let Google know that – they chose to only order one colour from us. :-)

I still wonder how much HTC values their products. I notice that in the buy back program they have; HTC on great conditions its valued as high as $130.00 and no more, but the iPhone 5s, they have it buy back at highest price if $300.00
SO I guess HTC doesn’t value their own products, or they recognize that they are not the best…I guess???

I really want a high quality 4 inch phone. My HTC One is just a tad too long to stuff in my pants pocket. Otherwise, it’s very nice.

  • M in Brum

Hi, is there a reason the 32GB of the M8 isn’t available in the UK??
